On October 18, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation between USST and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) was held online. The President of MMUST, Solomon I. Shibairo, and the Director of International Relations, Umulkher Abdalla, were present. USST President Ding Xiaodong, Vice President Cai Yonglian and related personnel from the International Affairs Office and Business School attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Cai Yonglian.
Ding Xiaodong said in his speech that China and Kenya h**e a deep bilateral cooperation foundation, and both sides h**e realized the accurate docking and organic integration of national development strategies under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI). As a high-level university under the key construction of Shanghai Municipality, USST takes cultivating engineering, innovative and internationalized talents with thick foundation and strong practice as the goal of talent cultivation, and devotes itself to continuously improving engineering education and level. Through this cooperation, the two sides will work together to actively explore new modes of cooperation in the field of scientific research, give full play to the advantages of technology and talents, and promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in African countries. He looked forward to the subsequent cooperation between the two sides and welcomed the Kenyan delegation to visit our university.

The signing of the MOU on cooperation between the two universities will certainly promote the cooperation in internationalized scientific research and teaching between the two sides, and he expected that in the future, both sides could carry out in-depth discussions in scientific research cooperation and joint cultivation of students.
At the meeting, Ding Xiaodong and Shibairo signed the MOU on behalf of the two universities. Both sides reviewed the origin of the cooperation between each other, introduced the existing international exchange and cooperation, and made a positive vision of the future cooperation between the two sides.
