On December 8, Prof. Dionisio Zaldivar Silva, Executive Vice President of the University of Havana, Cuba, visited our university. Vice President Zhang Hua hosted the meeting, and Director of International Affairs Office Ma Xiaoting and Deputy Director Xu Lin, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages Liu Qin, Vice Dean Han Geling and Zhang Le attended the meeting.
Zhang Hua firstly expressed a warm welcome to Silva's visit and introduced the history and development status of USST. He said that the fruitful cooperation between the two universities in the past two years is in line with the spirit of extensive exchanges and cooperation between China and Cuba in various fields, including higher education, and has laid a solid foundation for the two universities to continue to explore other possibilities of cooperation.
Silva extended his sincere greetings and thanks to the leadership of USST. He highlighted the development of the language and humanities majors of the University of Havana and expressed his high regard for the cooperation with USST and his hope that this visit would further implement the relevant cooperation between the two universities.

Liu Qin then introduced in detail the situation of student cultivation and international exchange in the College of Foreign Languages. The two sides exchanged views on the cooperation between the two universities in the fields of second foreign language training in Spanish, exchange of teachers and students, and joint master programs, and reached a preliminary consensus, and agreed to discuss detailed cooperation matters in the College of Foreign Languages in the near future.
