On 25th Sep, 2018, a Russian delegation led by Ms. Gligorenko Irina Gregory Yefner, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investment of Perm Krai of the Russian Federation, had visited USST.

The delegation includes presidents and representatives of 6 universities from Perm Krai. They are Perm State Research University, Perm National Research Polytechnic University, Perm State Medical Academy, Perm State Pharmaceutical College, Perm State Agricultural Academy and Perm State University of Aviation Technology. In addition, the Deputy Consul General and Deputy Education Consul of the Russian Consulate General in Shanghai accompanied the visit and relevant leaders of the Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office of Europe and Africa attended the meeting as well. Chancellor Wu met with the guests and Vice President Cai Yonglian hosted the meeting, accompanied by the heads of President's office, International Affairs Office, Division of Academic Research, School of Optical-Electrical and Computer Engineering and Public Experimental Center.

On behalf of USST, Vice President Cai warmly welcomed the delegation from Perm Krai and introduced the attendees of the meeting. Chancellor Wu introduced the development history of Chinese higher education, USST history, scientific research, international exchange and cooperation experience and achievements, international student number and source country. He also expressed his expectation of cooperation with higher education institutions in Perm Krai so as to promote the culture and academic exchanges of both sides. In the meeting, Ms. Gligorenko Irina Gregory Yefner introduced the policy and future development of the Perm Territory on higher education and stated that the government supports the cultivation of students with scientific and technological ability and innovative spirit. At present, relevant colleges and universities in the district welcome international students from China. With the foundation of h**ing established friendly and cooperative relations with 28 foreign higher education institutions, they look forward to future cooperation with USST. After the meeting, Vice President Cai accompanied the delegation to visit Labs in School of Optical-Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Economic Management Experimental Center.

Perm (Russian: Пермь)is the administrative center of Perm Krai, Russia, located on the banks of the Kama Riverin the European part of Russia near the Ural Mountains.
